Holiday Frolic

POSTED BY NAE Staff :: November 29, 2008 0 COMMENTS

The Jimmy Wolling Band get's the party on Broughton St. started
There was an outdoor ice skating, snow, children’s activities, an elegant marketplace and live entertainment, including Savannah’s best local musicians. Two stages were in full-swing for the entire day- the Jimmy Wolling Band kicked things off with some great Bluegrass music that had all the kids dancing in the street. Then the Roger Moss Ensemble kept things going with their high-energy jazz covers and sensational instrumental solos. Jody Espina of jodyjazz was incredible on saxophone and Roger had the crowd eating out of his hand with his rendition of “Summertime.” Between the bands, Dj Josh Miller mixed up the styles of music being played and kept the holiday spirit alive. Despite the rain (which had held off until the evening) the Train Wrecks finished off the evening with their amazing style described by them as bluegrass, rockabilly, ragtime, and Americana with a rock 'n roll presentation.

Our sound technicians, Igor and Matt, made our jobs so simple as they did an amazing job keeping everything balanced and Tony Clarke, whom we brought in from Atlanta to manage one of the stages, was in his element. Tony also works with us during the Savannah Music Festival where Ricardo serves as the Production Manager.

Thank you to all the musicians and staff at the CVB for making the Holiday Frolic a successful event…we had a great time and look forward to next year!
